Patricia E. Raymond, Esq.
Patty, a life-long Chicago area resident, joined the law firm Raymond & Associates in 2005 after establishing herself as a highly successful plaintiff’s medical malpractice attorney in Illinois, and the firm became Raymond & Raymond, Ltd. Patty oversees, manages and litigates all of the medical malpractice cases at Raymond & Raymond, Ltd. Patty’s journey to zealously advocate for her clients began during her former career as a nurse, by advocating for her patients. Patty graduated with her BSN from Loyola University of Chicago in 1981 and became a licensed Registered Nurse. She worked several years as a hospital nurse on a medical-surgical floor and in the intensive care unit (ICU) at one of Chicago’s largest and most prestigious hospitals.
As a licensed registered nurse Patty prided herself on her medical knowledge, compassion and being a zealous advocate for her patients, even if it meant standing up to the physicians and hospital administrators. Patty knew that if she did not stand up for her patients no one would, and her patients would suffer or die as a consequence. Her experience as a nurse in the trenches has been invaluable to her practice as a medical negligence attorney. Patty’s fearless advocacy for her patients and medical knowledge transferred well to her work as an attorney and she continues to avidly fight on behalf of her clients.
Patty’s past experience as a nurse has made her empathetic and sensitive to the plight of those injured by medical negligence and she passionately protects her clients throughout all phases of litigation. Because of her work as a nurse, Patty is not intimidated or tricked by physicians, nurses, medical experts, or their attorneys as they attempt to defend their negligent actions by confusing the issues and telling half-truths. Patty has faced physicians and nurses in real life-and-death situations and knows how to make sure the truth comes to light and provide full compensation for her clients.
Throughout Patty’s illustrious career she has experienced many successful outcomes on behalf of her clients. Through her hard work and perseverance she has achieved over $100 million in settlements and verdicts. Sweat equity is no stranger to Patty and she welcomes the challenge of standing up to the insurance companies and hospitals to provide full compensation for her clients.
When she is not tirelessly advocating on behalf of her clients, Patty enjoys playing soccer, listening to music, staying current on global events, and spending time with her family.
