New Case Spotlight: Failure to Timely Diagnose Brain Cancer
DuPage County, IL Raymond & Raymond LTD has filed a new case on behalf of the family of a 64-year-old man who presented to the hospital with troubling neurological symptoms including dizziness, numbness, weakness, and loss of sensation. A brain MRI was performed but misread as normal, and no further investigation was done. Two years later, the same symptoms returned, and a subsequent MRI revealed brain cancer. When compared with the earlier scan, the cancer should have been detected at that time.
For two years, the disease was permitted to grow and spread unchecked. Despite four years of aggressive treatment after the eventual diagnosis, the cancer proved too advanced, and the patient tragically lost his life.
“This outcome was preventable,” said Robert Raymond, Partner. “When cancer is missed, precious time is stolen from patients and their families. Early detection could have changed the course of this case, and we are committed to seeking accountability.”
This case reflects our mission at Raymond & Raymond: to advocate fiercely for patients and families harmed by negligence and ensure accountability in healthcare.
