Timothy R. Borchardt, Esq.

Tim Borchardt joined Raymond & Raymond as an associate attorney in September 2019.  Tim focuses his work on fighting for justice for Raymond & Raymond, Ltd. clients who are victims of medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury.  Tim’s research and writing abilities as well as courtroom advocacy have been a welcome addition to the firm.  He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in May 2017.  While at the College of Law, Tim wrote onto the Law Review after completing his first year of law school, and became an associate editor after his second year of law school.

Tim served as a staff attorney extern at the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Lake County, Illinois in Waukegan, Illinois.  As an extern, he researched and drafted weekly memoranda and orders for judicial review on legal issues involving motions to dismiss, motions for forum non conveniens, and motions for summary judgment in motor vehicle cases, premises liability cases, commercial foreclosure cases, and mortgage foreclosure cases.  Additionally, he received exposure to criminal matters, including post-conviction proceedings and cases involving defendants’ claims of ineffective assistance of counsel.

Prior to joining Raymond & Raymond, Tim worked as a law clerk for Liberty Mutual, focusing on personal injury cases.  From that experience, as well as his family members in the medical field, Tim gained an interest in personal injury and medical malpractice cases.  After graduation from the College of Law, Tim clerked for the Hon. Judge Brigid McGrath in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.

Tim grew up in Grayslake, Illinois.  He received his B.S. in Chemistry upon graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University.  In his spare time, Tim enjoys CrossFit, hiking, and spending time with his friends and family.
