MARCH 14, 2025 – CHICAGO, IL – Clark Raymond and Patty Raymond, Co-Founders and Managing Partners at Raymond & Raymond, Ltd., have finalized a $1,150,000 confidential settlement in a devastating medical malpractice case involving a botched cancer surgery at a local Chicagoland hospital.

The defense argued that the patient’s cancer was so advanced that the family was not entitled to any recovery, asserting that the patient would not have survived regardless of the surgical errors. However, after years of litigation, the case was ultimately resolved on the first day of trial. Today, the attorneys successfully finalized the settlement in probate court, ensuring the compensation is distributed to the patient’s surviving family members.

Our clients have suffered an immense loss, and while no settlement can undo the harm they endured, this resolution provides a measure of justice and financial support for their future,” said Patty Raymond, managing partner at Raymond & Raymond, Ltd. “This case reaffirms that every patient deserves competent medical care, no matter the severity of their condition, and that negligence in treatment will not go unchallenged.

Raymond & Raymond, Ltd. remains dedicated to advocating for victims of medical malpractice, ensuring that negligent healthcare providers are held accountable, and securing just compensation for families affected by preventable medical errors.
